We offer innovative and effective treatments for your nerve, muscle, or skeletal problem.
Lymphedema, Venous Insufficiency & Chronic Swelling Treatment
Persistent swelling in your arms, legs, hands, feet, or trunk isn't something you have to live with. At Michigan In Motion Physical Therapy, we provide specialized treatment for lymphedema, chronic edema, venous insufficiency, and other conditions that cause swelling, discomfort, heaviness, and limited mobility.
Lymphedema occurs when the lymphatic system is unable to effectively drain fluid from the tissues. It may develop after cancer treatment, including lymph node removal or radiation therapy, following surgery or trauma, as a result of chronic venous insufficiency, or due to a hereditary condition known as primary lymphedema. We also treat swelling that develops after orthopedic procedures, plastic surgery, and other medical conditions affecting the lymphatic or vascular systems.
Our certified lymphedema therapists use Complete Decongestive Therapy (CDT), the gold standard for treating lymphedema. This evidence-based, non-invasive treatment is designed to reduce swelling, improve circulation, decrease discomfort, and protect the health of your skin and soft tissues.
Your personalized treatment plan may include:
Whether you're recovering from breast cancer, managing post-mastectomy lymphedema, dealing with venous insufficiency, or experiencing chronic swelling for another reason, our compassionate team is here to help you reduce swelling, improve function, and regain your confidence.
Michigan In Motion Physical Therapy proudly serves patients throughout Shelby Township, Macomb Township, Utica, Sterling Heights, Washington Township, Rochester Hills, and surrounding communities with personalized, evidence-based lymphedema care.
